Update from Parish Clerk
Visitors to the village
Exton is eerily quiet at the moment I am sure you will agree. With such sunny weather and our village location set in such a beautiful landscape it is easy to forget the devastation to families throughout the land. The number of visitors to the village seem to have dwindled due to the more recent announcements of possibly strengthening the powers of those in authority.
We can all help to get rid of the virus by STAYING HOME.
The Exton and Horn Parish Council have not placed any warning notices or similar within the parish and would urge residents to consider carefully their position when taking it upon themselves to do so. No matter how well intended nobody wants to find themselves on the wrong side of the law. Infringements regarding exercising and people travelling to Exton should be notified to the Parish Clerk who will, should it be necessary. report through the appropriate channels. Members of the public are urged not to take measures into their own hands.
Last week there were some difficulties with prescriptions, I understand some were not ready for collection as promised. Our volunteer has no control over this of course and she was upset not to be able to fulfil her duties. There were some issues with supplies and sheer numbers we believe. Nevertheless the system does normally work and is appreciated by those using it. Our volunteer has no control over the actions of the pharmacy or surgery. With Easter looming it is essential to organise your collections earlier so please remember to put your request in earlier.
A number of local farm shops and butchers are offering delivery /collection services and in some cases free of charge. Too many to list here and they tend to change day by day but for those of you with social media it is worth looking. A telephone call to the Fox and Hounds 01572 811032 and you will be advised of the menu for the take away service.
Please keep in touch with your Neighbours if they are unable to use the social media. You can telephone or shout over the fence! The Volunteer group is here to help, please get in touch if you need us. Nobody should be in need because of this pandemic. Nobody should feel alone.
