Update from Parish Clerk

Update from Parish Clerk

Dear Residents

It is a job to keep up with the ever evolving information given to Parish Clerks and I can only advise the official information as it changes.

Waste recycling

There are now plans to eventually open the 'tips' but we were told it could take some weeks. Safe distancing will need to be in place for the safety of the staff and there will need to be a system of traffic management in place. This will take some time to organise. So be patient. It is likely there will be a rush initially so perhaps it is best to wait a while when and if it does happen.

Rutland Water

Rutland Water will continue to be closed over the Bank Holiday.

VE Day

There are big plans for the VE Virtual Celebration encouraging participation from the villages in Rutland. The Lord Lieutenant is co-ordinating and there is a lot of information on social media.

Food bank collection

To assist with the Foodbank collection which will avoid unnecessary travelling and because customers are not spending as much time in the supermarkets - though you can still support them - the Parishes were asked if they would have local dropping off points for contributions. This will then be picked up by the VAR staff weekly. Therefore a lidded plastic box is in the porch of 20 Stamford Road - which is about central in the village - for you to put in any donations. You do not need to knock at the door - just put your contribution inside. I have attached a leaflet regarding Exton and Horn Parish Council support.Keep safe and well and keep your distance
